Traditionally, it was the man who made all of the money for his family. While that is still very popular today, women need not feel limited to their husbands when it comes to money.  A woman does a lot when it comes to the home.  She might as well be using some of her talents for her own benefit.  If you are a stay at home mom or a woman who just stays home, then you probably already have the patience that it takes to turn your home skills into a steady income.

Think about what you like.  What are your interests?  A good way to figure this out is to write them all down on a piece of paper.  Your interests may range from children to talking on the phone.  Know that whatever they are, they can be turned into cash.

Here are a few ideas to help get you started:

1. Telemarketing

There are those that do this at home.  You can find hundreds of legit job postings on sites such as CareerBuilder and craigslist that are hiring at home telemarketers with little to no experience.  All you have to do is to be able to cooperate, be patient, and have generally good people skills.  Most people have usually picked these skills up just by having children or living life in general.

2. Start your own greeting card business.

You could start selling greeting cards online or out of your home.  All you have to do is come up with some neat designs, and print the cards out from your computer.  Most cards sell for about $3.00 to $4.00.  If you sell about ten every day, then you are looking at a decent part-time income.

3. Do you know how to design a web page?

You might want to consider offering your services if you do.  Even if you do not know how, you can take a few online courses to learn how.  This career has a lot of potential.  Some web designers make thousands of dollars per week depending on who they are working for.  This job usually involves signing up to a few projects at a time to ensure that you will have ongoing work.  Once your portfolio is established, there is no doubt that your work will be nonstop.

4. Write eBooks and sell them.

It may take a few weeks to write the book of your choice, but the great thing is that you can pick your subject.  After you have written your book, you can sell it to various websites and other online buyers.  The great thing about it is that you can sell your book over and over again.  Writing an eBook is a chance that everyone should take at least once.  There are billions and billions of people in this world, and someone is going to buy your book.

Staying at home does not have to be an everyday struggle.  You can do all of these things from home.  All of these opportunities are free to start, and anyone can do them.  Whether you are a woman who graduated from college with a bachelors degree, or a high school dropout, you still have the ability to take complete advantage of these awesome income opportunities.  You can choose to combine more than one, or just stick to the one that you like the best.  It is your decision to make.

With the economy in the shape that it is in, everyone is looking for some easy ways to earn an extra buck or two.  Women who stay home with their children are not exempt from the list.  Many women may not realize it because they are often too busy focusing on the kids, but if they put their minds to it, then they can actually be very successful while staying at home.  It is true, people who stay home do things every day that others do while on the job.  If you are a stay at home mom, or just someone who is looking to make some money without having to pay for anything, then you have come to the right place.

Do you like to Sew?

Whether it is sewing, stitching, or knitting, women love to do this.  Some are actually experts at it.  Most of the time, this activity just starts off as a hobby, and possibly something that moms do while the kids are napping or at school.  You might want to consider knitting or sewing quilts or blankets, t-shirts, baby clothes, pillows, or something else that is in high demand and selling them.  Since they are handmade, then you can surely sell them for a very good price.  People love things that are handmade, that is a well-known fact.  Put yourself in the customer’s shoes.  Would you rather have something that has been manufactured by a company, or sown together by a skilled artist?  You are probably going to put more value on the second one.  Handmade fabrics are also so much more appealing to the eye.  You could sell them online, at a flea market, or out in your backyard during a yard sale on the weekend.  The choice is yours.

Do you like to Write?

Then you could become a freelance writer.  There is a very good amount of income in this career - and yes, it is a career.  There is normally no amount of experience that is required in order to become a freelance writer.  All you have to do is sign up to an online writing site, send in one of your written articles or stories, and wait on a reply.  Writers are in very high demand because the people that distribute your articles and stories make a killing off of them.  There is definitely no lack of work.  Once you become a writer, you will see that you are going to have work lined up from here to the hills.  There are some people that are actually making a 6-figure income from freelance writing.  If you consider yourself as someone who is good with words and can also throw a nice little story or informative article together, then freelance writing might just be the route you need to take.

There are so many more home skills that women possess that are just too numerous to name here.  Once you sit down and start thinking, however, you will certainly be able to come up with many more.  Just take out a pencil and a piece of paper and start writing down all of the things that you enjoy in life and decide how to turn them into money.  It is as simple as that.
