Selling on eBay is not too difficult.  They have a very easy form type process that allows you to list your product.

Fees are charged on certain listing options and there is a charge after you make a sale.  Fees vary so be sure to pay attention to this when reading about their fees and charges.

Payments and customer issues are also an important issue at eBay.  This is one of the nice things about selling through eBay.  They have a great system set up to ensure you get paid and that people do not rip you off.  They also make payment simple because they allow you to go through Paypal or to accept checks and money orders.

Now we will look at the pros and cons about eBay.  These things are object and you may consider a pro a con or visa versa.  Just understand that these are important points to consider about selling on eBay.

Pros

- You get to work on your own time schedule.  You can put items up for sale, watch bids and handle your account with eBay whenever you want.  Fit your work with eBay around your own schedule.

- It is easy to find something to sell.  With almost anything selling on eBay coming by products to sell is simple.  People expect variety and options from eBay so you have a great market to sell in no matter what you sell.

- You do not have to do any marketing.  EBay is already well established and people know they can find pretty much anything they need on eBay.  EBay gets traffic to the website.  The only thing marketing related you have to worry abut is writing a good sales pitch and choosing the right keywords to use for your listing.  EBay even offers you help with that.  They have tutorials on everything from writing a good sales pitch to tips on how to get more people looking at your listings.

Cons

- You do have to pay fees on some listings and after you make a sale.  These fees vary depending on the sales price and listing options you choose.  In the end, you do not get 100% profit off your sale.

- You have to monitor your listings to ensure they are getting bids and to answer questions people may have asked about your listing.  Not responding to questions could make you lose a sale.

- You may not get any bids on your item.  There are various reasons why a listing may not get bids, but if you get no bids then you make no money.  When this happens you have to find out why nobody bid and fix the issues.  Then you have to relist the items.
